Self-Reflection

Self-Reflection

I think the biggest change in me since the beginning of this school year is I can learn to study and live all by myself and am able to control myself and spend my time more cleverly. It is my first time to go away from my family and motherland alone. It is definitely good to learn self-control, because my parents or other people won’t help me with my study or my life forever. It is positive because in my opinion it is very important to be independent and clearly if you are independent earlier, you will get benefit from that in the future. It is just like what I have said, one day, there will be no one that you can rely on. For that day, we need to prepare ourselves and the way we prepare for it is to learn how to control your time.
In China, I used to be a student who only knew how to study and didn’t know how to wash clothes. I couldn’t even wake myself up in the morning. I depended on my parents a lot, such as, they prepared breakfast for me, washed my clothes, cleaned my room and helped and supervised me for my study. After I came to Seattle, I learned to use washing machine, I cleaned my room every month and cleared trash bins every week, and I forced myself to do homework first after school before playing games or watching videos. It was hard to do homework while all my friends were playing games, but I managed to do it and I take this change as learning self-control.
It has been a successful year for me and I have lived a happy life. For me, the change in life is good. I learned to live with others, and luckily, I have a great roommate. Edward is my friend and we had a terrific time this year. Although, sometimes we couldn’t wake up in the morning and were late for school, but for most of time we can go to school on time. I still take those little changes in my life as positive and I think they influenced me in a lot of ways. I have to say those littles changes lead to the big change and I really feel thankful to my parents to give me this chance to be in the US and change my life.

My greatest success as a learner in Humanities is to know how to write essays and learn the knowledge of history in the past, especially the religion part in Europe which is the most attractive to me. I achieved the goal of learning more vocabularies and thanks for Heather’s 25 word very week, because it is really useful. My goal for the upcoming summer is to read more books in English and learn more vocabularies for my 10th Grade. I hope to learn more history of US and enjoy the reading and essays. I am also looking forward to teachers next year. At last, thank you Heather for our terrific freshman year. It has been a wonderful experience here and I really enjoy Humanities.
